Mint E-Commerce Summit

Disruptive forces have caused dramatic changes in the Indian ecommerce market. According to eMarketer, the world will have 2 billion smartphone users by 2016. India will be a catalyst for this growth, overtaking US to become the world’s second largest smartphone market (after China) with more than 200 million users.

The connected consumer is redefining how a product should be sold and delivered. Clearly, the balance of power is shifting in favour of evolved consumers who, thanks to the digital revolution, expect more engagement every time they shop online. They are the empowered consumers.

These were some of the discussions held during the Mint’s E-commerce Summit where leading online retailers participated to share their industry experiences with the audience. The platform brought together a panel of industry experts, regulators and policy makers to discuss and debate the future of ecommerce in India and how it can reach its true potential.
