Vishal Anand Kanvaty, CTO, NPCI

Vishal Kanvaty serves as the Chief Technology Officer at National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), where he has made significant contributions over the past 7+ years. Notably, he played a crucial role in developing the highly scalable mobile payment platform Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

With an impressive 24 years of experience in the financial sector, Vishal's expertise spans payments, cards, banking, blockchain, digital banking, and lending. He holds an MBA from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (Batch of 2000).

Vishal has been instrumental in developing AI-driven models that effectively mitigate fraud in the payments industry. Additionally, he has been leading the Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) initiatives at NPCI, further solidifying his position as a pioneer in the field of payments technology.

Vishal Dhawan is a Certified Financial Planner and co-founder of Plan Ahead Wealth Advisors, a SEBI registered investment advisory firm established in 2003.

Plan Ahead won the Best Investment Advisor for multiple years in the Outlook Money Awards and was also the second runner up in the Plan Plus Global Awards - Asia Region multiple times.

Vishal is an economics graduate and a MBA in Finance. He worked as a banker before cofounding Plan Ahead Wealth Advisors. He frequently writes columns and shares his expertise on television & radio.

Vishal was also a founder director of ARIA – the Association of Registered Investment Advisors.

Vishal Jain, CEO, Zerodha AMC

Vishal Jain is currently CEO of Zerodha Asset Management Pvt Ltd and is responsible for the AMC.

He has over 25 years of experience in financial services including 20 plus years building ETFs and passive products.

He started his career in the AMC industry as part of the founding team of Benchmark AMC which launched India’s first ETF in 2001 - Nifty BeES and was designated as Fund Manager. After the acquisition of Benchmark AMC by Goldman Sachs AMC India in 2011, he was designated as Chief Investment Officer of the Passive business. In his last role, he was Head-ETF at Nippon Life India Asset Management Ltd and oversaw the scale up of the ETF Business from Rs.7,500 crore to over 50,000 crores in 2022.

He has been part of various committees and groups relating to development of passive products in India. Recently, he was part of the “Working Group on Passive Funds” constituted by SEBI to recommend changes in Regulations and Market Infrastructure to foster the growth of ETFs and Index Funds.

Apart from work, he loves to play tennis, listen to music and spend quality time with family.

Vishal Mahadevia is a Managing Director, Head of Asia Private Equity and Co-Head of Global Financial Services, and a member of the Executive Committee and Executive Management Group at Warburg Pincus.

Vishal is also a Director of PVR INOX Limited and Apollo Tyres Limited. He serves on the International Advisory Board of Center for the Advanced Study of India, the Board of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum, and the India Regional Board of Room to Read. He received a BS in Economics with a concentration in Finance and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
