Venkatesh Hariharan (Venky) is the Public Policy Director for FOSS United, an organization that represents the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) community in India and India Representative of the Open Invention Network (OIN), an organization that protects the FOSS community from patent litigation. 

Hariharan has 32 years of experience in journalism and public policy with organizations like Indian Express, IIIT Bangalore, Red Hat, Google, iSPIRT and the Data Governance Network at IDFC Institute. In these roles, he has been involved in key policy issues like open source in government, open standards, software patents, Indian Language Computing, free speech on the Internet, privacy, building and evangelizing Digital Public Goods, and many others. His long term interest is in democratizing access to technology and knowledge.

Vijay Balakrishnan is the Chief Digital & Information Officer at Godrej Enterprises Group. With over two decades of experience in digital transformation within the manufacturing sector, Vijay is dedicated to maximizing technology value through responsible adoption.

At Godrej Enterprises Group, he leads the digital transformation across various domains, including products, commercial operations, service operations, manufacturing, finance, procurement, and marketing. He leverages mature technology platforms such as ERP, CRM, Lakehouse, dashboards, AI, web apps, mobile apps, RPA, chatbots, AR/VR, and more to drive efficiency and innovation.

Vijay is committed to ensuring the responsible use of technology through behavioral modeling, reactive controls, monitoring, and corrective actions. His digital strategy focuses on enhancing customer experience, connected products, smart manufacturing, supply chain digitization, and unlocking operational efficiencies across various business functions including Commercial, R&D, Procurement, and HR.

Prior to joining Godrej Enterprises Group, Vijay has successfully led digital transformation initiatives at GE, Michelin, and UPL Ltd. An avid speaker at technology forums, he also leads frugal innovation projects in emerging technologies.
