Dr. Vibha Tripathi, Founder, Boon

Dr. Vibha Tripathi is a social entrepreneur working in the energy and water sector. She holds a post-graduate and PhD degree from IIT Kanpur with specialization in the research and development of solar energy.

Dr. Tripathi is the founder of Boon, a technology driven company with a focus on social and environmental impact with respect to drinking water. She has been the key driver behind Boon’s IoT enabled WaterATMs® and WaterCubes, commercial premium drinking water machines meant for 100+ people. Each machine is driven by an IoT mechanism designed and engineered by Boon’s in-house R&D facility, which allows the team to send and receive key information. The company collects this data through the remotest parts of the country and has built a unique water map. This remote-control mechanism also allows management to repair and update the machines effortlessly. The latest designs for B2B allow user engagement, a QR Code phone app to check water quality in real time and a dashboard for admin to monitor their usage. Many of the designs are solar ready.

Boon is currently on their 4th generation with reaching 1000 installations. Boon is instrumental in giving clean drinking water to half a million people daily while removing 85 tons of plastics annually.

In her free time, she loves rustling up interesting meals, preparing for marathons, and traveling to new destinations.

Gagandeep Reehal, Co-Founder & CEO, Minus Zero

Gagandeep Reehal, is co-founder & CEO of Minus Zero, an autonomous vehicle startup pioneering a groundbreaking AI approach aimed at solving autonomous driving using only cameras.

Closely working at an intuitive intersection of AI & cognitive computing from the last 4 years, he had always been intrigued by neuronal computations inside the human brain contributing to attention, perception, episodic memory, and predictive decision-making.

With the problem of autonomous driving where current AI paradigms fail due to inability to handle real-world complexity, unlike the human mind, he knew the big gap that they could solve when he co-founded Minus Zero in 2021 with high-school batchmate, Gursimran.

Getting his first desktop and internet connection at age of 10 had opened up a whole new world of learning for him - robotics, AI, etc. Though a final year engineering undergrad currently, traditional education had never been a limiting factor. He believes that most complicated problems can be solved elegantly by breaking it down to right sub-problems, and reasoning from first principles.

He has mentored/judged major developer events worldwide, and has spoken at multiple conferences and major institutions around AI & robotics.

Beyond Minus Zero, you would often find him reading compelling fiction or maybe writing poetry. He has three book publications to his credit.

Gursimran Kalra, co-founded Minus Zero to solve toughest problems of mobility - autonomous driving alongside his old high-school companion, Gagandeep, during the lockdown.

Having recently graduated from SRCC, Gursimran Kalra has always been driven by a desire to make a lasting impact on society. He recognizes the imperative for traditional industries to undergo disruptive technological transformations to address the pressing needs of humanity.

Coming from a small town, he always made sure to explore every opportunity that could propel him towards his goal - becoming two-time district topper in high school boards and securing a coveted place at one of the country's premier institutions. But he wasn’t satisfied - the real world complexities didn’t closely match the text-book problem statements.

Post a serendipitous Instagram conversation one day catching up, a shared vision and unwavering belief in each other's abilities led both of them to building the startup together.

Minus Zero stands at the forefront of innovation, pioneering a groundbreaking AI approach inspired by the human brain, aimed at solving significant challenges in mobility, particularly autonomous driving using cameras alone.

Outside Minus Zero, Gursimran loves exploring diverse cultures, relishing their cuisine, music, and cinema.
